Frank Lloyd Wright’s Restored Planetarium Reopens at Florida Southern College

Frank Lloyd Wright ’s only planetarium has reopened at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, following a multiphase restoration process that returns the historic space to public and educational use after more than two decades of limited activity. The 75-seat planetarium is located within the Polk County Science Building, one of 13 Wright-designed structures on the college’s West Campus built beginning in the early 1940s. Completed in 1958, the Polk County Science Building is the biggest of Wright’s buildings at Florida Southern.
