While “The Fate of Ophelia” music video leaned all the way into Taylor Swift's showgirl era, “Patient Zero” is a treasure trove of refined capsule pieces. On September 27, Swift aptly debuted her latest music video at the 2026 VMAs, where she also took home video of the year award for “The Fate of Ophelia,” as well as the inaugural Artist-Director Honor. “Patient Zero” marks the 18th video Swift has self-written and directed, as she pointed out in her acceptance speech.
