Casa González Luna by Luis Barragán: Guadalajara’s Casa ITESO Clavigero Cultural Center

Casa Gonzalez Luna, designed by Luis Barragan in Guadalajara between 1929 and 1930, develops domestic privacy through gardens, patios, thick rendered walls, and roof terraces. Now operating as Casa ITESO Clavigero, the former residence remains a valuable record of Barragan’s early regional vocabulary and its subsequent adaptation to public cultural use. Rather than treating the site as a continuous garden surrounding an isolated object, the house divides it into a sequence of exterior chambers.
